Control Engineer
|
Job Summary:
Provide engineering services within a predefined scope individually or as a team member. Capable of being assigned to multiple tasks of a project including specification, electrical design, programming, testing, field commissioning, and technical training. Projects range over a variety of processes in an array of industries.
Essential Functions:
1. Apply Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and Human Machine Interface (HMI) programming.
2. Apply Manufacturing Execution System (MES) package configuration and programming.
3. Determine and define Electrical Design.
4. Read and understand project related drawings.
5. Write documents such as User Requirements, Functional Specifications, Detailed Design Specifications, etc.
6. Provide Module and Factory Acceptance Testing.
7. Participate in and lead Startup and Commissioning of large projects at the customer site.
8. Create technical solutions for large projects.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Identify technical risks in assigned work.
2. Create and implement Avanceon standards.
3. Work flexible hours as needed to meet client needs.
4. Problem solve as needed.
5. Train associates and customers as needed.
Required Skills & Abilities:
1. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
2. Strong computer skills.
3. Ability to work on multiple tasks and/or projects.
4. Speak, read, and write fluently in English.
5. Valid driver’s license.
6. Valid, usable credit card for field expenses.
Physical Requirements (if applicable):
1. Ability to travel 25% - 40% - passport required.
2. Physically able to be mobile and work safely in an industrial environment.
3. Be conscious of safety rules and practices to protect against injury to self, others, machinery, and product.
4. Utilize safety equipment that can be utilized outside the workplace.
Required Credentials:
1. Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
2. Two to ten years of engineering experience.
3. Experience on all major hardware platforms.
